"Auntie" Pam Member Female 62 years old |
About Me
I'm Aunt Pam, "Auntie" as Cohnway called me. His Daddy, Mike, is my Brother. We were all blessed to have Cohnway as part of the family for 26 years. He enriched all our lives and he is missed everyday. His spirit is strong and with us always. He lived his dream and will never ever ever be forgotten. We didn't want him to leave us, but God must have needed him more. Cohnway, you will remain in my heart, mind, and soul forever. Love, "Auntie Pam |

About Me
I'm Kyle, a good buddy of Cohnway's. We grew up playing little league baseball together as well as middle and high school football. I spent many a night at Mike and Candy's and frequented the cherished family reunions he loved to brag about. Cohnway was truly one of a kind and the thought of him passing is still so surreal. I pray for his family's grief to be lifted as he is undoubtedly fighting heaven's fires. It ain't easy havin' pals... |

About Me
Cohnway was my cousin. I remember him as a little boy and the sparkle in his big brown eyes. What a joy he was to Mike and Candy... not to mention "Little Michael", as we called him back then. He was sooooo proud of his little brother!! Cohnway will always be missed, but never forgotten. If there is any comfort at all in this tragedy, it is knowing Cohnway was living his dream. And, Michael, your son Sterling, looks just like Cohnway. Cohnway's memory will live on forever, especially in the eyes of your little boy! Love you Mike, Candy and Michael. |

I am Mandy's mom and I got to know Cohnway through Rusty and Mandy. He visited our house a few times and the last time he was over he brought me a beer and we talked about when I traveled to Amsterdam. Cohnway was a fun-loving friend to my family and grandchildren and he is missed greatly. |

About Me
I remember the first day Cohnway showed up at the fire station in Oak Hill. I remember thinking, "I hope I never make that guy mad!" Over time though I got to know Cohnway and had the privilege and fun of working with him on C-shift. He was never shy to tell you what he thought, and could crack a smile on anyone's face. I think Cohnway passes that ulitmate test that every firefighter hopes they will when the question is asked about them..."Is he a good guy to work with?" You see, Cohnway was a firefighter's firefighter. He was a great guy to work with---I knew he had our backs. We'll miss you buddy....but we'll never forget you. |

About Me
Brother it's not your turn to go. I ask myself why? But still I don't know. You came to our fire house, Brought laughter and good cheer. You became a friend throughout the years. When I heard you had collapsed after that 4 mile run. I just knew you would bounce back, Like the rays from the sun. However you did win the race, To pick and choose, Your firehouse place. The scars on your body, Tell a story to all. What kind of man you have become, I know everyone saw. Like the burnt circles on your arm, It showed so well, How brave you were, When you got burned and said - oh hell? But you knew the girls would like the story, Of your new scars, Your pride and glory. I still don't understand why you're gone, But we will do our best to move on. One thing is for sure You will never be forgotten, We love and miss you, Firefighter Cohnway Johnson. By: Stacy Kubin |
